Admin centres

Following the relocation of our main administrative function from Central London to Swindon in 1972, we grew rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s. In July 1988, the Board approved the acquisition of a site on the outskirts of Swindon to replace our town centre buildings. Nationwide House, now our head office, has a working population of around 4,000, and a further 3,000 employees work in our second major administration centre in Northampton.
